Our history

One of the founders of Királyi Marzipan is Rita Mezei , who graduated from Ecseri út Catering Vocational Vocational School in Budapest, majoring in confectionary and serving. Since he helped his parents a lot in the family business from a young age, confectionary was close to his heart.
During his school years, in the production of the Royal Hotel, he was able to acquire knowledge from the best confectioners, which he has been continuously improving ever since. His professional curiosity and his love for confectionery allowed him to gain a wide range of experience at a very young age.
At the age of 18, she found the partner of her life, János Mezei , with whom they dreamed up the King's Marzipan desserts, and later their son Róbert and daughter Nikolett joined this dream. They have become a real family business.

In the beginning, they were present on the market with a mixed range of products, and later specialized in unique, special marzipan, so they now have more than 20 years of experience in this field.

The production, which started from their own home, has moved to larger and larger plants over the decades, and in 2024 it is already taking place in a 300-square-meter plant. Due to the continuous success, the appearance at more and more fairs and the requests from resellers, this plant also turned out to be small, so it is expected that it will be time to move again soon. Although the entire family takes part in the production processes, the company's colleagues also contributed to the company's success, mostly from family and friends.

It is very important to the Mezei family that their products are made from the best ingredients. The basis of their desserts is a unique, 67% almond marzipan , which is made so irresistible with premium quality accessories. Currently, they offer more than 30 eye-catching products in different flavors to marzipan lovers.

This year, Rita was included in the book "Successful Personalities of Hungary" by the prestigious British Publishing House, which we are really proud of!
